BCCI Working Committee meets to discuss Compliance Report
New Delhi, Aug 21: The working committee of the BCCI will be meeting in the capital on Monday to discuss about the 'First Compliance Report' on the implementation of various recommendations made by Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Committee. As per Lodha Committee's directive, after meeting BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke on August 9, the 'Compliance Report' needs to be submitted to a three-member panel by August 25, for which the BCCI top brass have summoned the meeting. In the interim, BCCI has already filed a review petition with the Supreme Court asking for recusal of Chief Justice of India TS Thakur. Another important point that is expected to be mentioned in the first report will be disbursement of annual grants among the affiliated units and the tender invitation for various contracts including the lucrative TV deal for IPL, which is up for grabs. It will be interesting to see the steps taken by the BCCI on the proposed Players' Association as well as making Puducherry an associate member.... More
